Ceilidh Heroes are an exceptionally experienced traditional Ceilidh band available to hire for weddings, corporate events and private parties. Formed in the early 80’s, Ceilidh Heroes have performed at a vast array of events, to a plethora of diverse audiences across the UK and abroad. Recently, the band have toured Malta and Thailand and also played to huge audiences, including 40,000 people at Glasgow Mayfest and 25,000 at the Heineken Big Top with The Pogues.
From performing at a chateau in France for an exclusive birthday party, to numerous wedding celebrations and even a very intimate gathering of 6, for a private family celebration, the band can take on pretty much any type of event with their knowledge and expertise!
Some of the most memorable venues Ceilidh Heroes have played include The Royal Concert Hall and Rock City in Nottingham, Alexandra Palace, the Hammersmith Apollo, Camden Irish Centre and Kilburn Irish Centre in London, the Celtic Supporters Club in Glasgow and the Leicester Tigers Stadium. They have also played the end of tour parties for the Threepenny Opera and Reasons To Be Cheerful theatre productions and, performed at the end of shoot parties for a couple of ITV series, as well as being filmed as part of the storylines!
Whether you’re interested in booking a smaller three-piece band or the full five-piece, Ceilidh Heroes are very flexible and versatile and depending on your line-up choice, there is a range of instrumentation to select from, including vocals, guitar, button accordion, melodeon, bodhran, fiddle, banjo and mandolin. In addition, when playing for Ceilidhs and barn dances, Ceilidh Heroes always bring along a caller who works wonders at getting people involved in fun and easy traditional dances.
Their repertoire encompasses fast and furious Celtic songs and tunes, gentle ballads and quality contemporary numbers, by the likes of Christy Moore, Eric Bogle, and Ewan MacColl, as well as some original material.
