Both an acclaimed DJ and Producer, Mark van den Berg (aka Mark Luvdup) started DJing aged 15 in his hometown, Cape Town, South Africa. He arrived in England in the late eighties and was quickly drawn to the Manchester music scene where, fuelled by a love of house, disco and Balearic beats, he began his own club night ‘Luvdup.’ Drawing in clubbers in their thousands, the success of the night launched Mark on the first wave of superstar DJs, resulting in him being voted number 25 in the world’s best DJs poll, by readers of DJ Magazine.
Mark was signed to Warner Brothers by Jonathan Dickens, who went on the manage Adele, initiating her global success. He produced his own records, working with artists such as Womack and Womack, M.People and The Charlatans amongst many others, earning Pete Tong’s “Essential New Tune” listing for his debut release and a couple of gold discs for his Fantazia mix compilations.
With top-notch technical skills and an innate ability to read a crowd, Mark is an excellent choice of DJ for your wedding, event or party. Not only does he bring a wealth of experience, but he is unrivalled in terms of knowing how to keep the dance floor moving all night, whilst adhering to the chosen playlist of his clients.
Mark has a calm, reassuring and honest approach and his professionalism has led him to become not only one of the UK’s top wedding DJs, but also a judge at The Wedding Industry Awards since 2016, where he reviews and critiques all the very best wedding DJs in the UK.
