Aneequa – Live Entertainment Manager

Aneequa is a passionate photographer who specialises in portraits and music photography. She is also a vocalist and enjoys writing and producing her own music.

After completing her first degree in Criminology and Sociology, Aneequa decided to go traveling and fulfill her curiosities about the world. She has now visited every continent, except Antarctica and Australia – but hopes to strike these off the list too!

With professional work experience in a variety of industries, Aneequa has gained a range of transferrable skills, from customer service and sales, to events management, marketing and social media management, as well as creative art direction. She also recently passed her Masters in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism at University of Arts, London and is enjoying pursuing visual story-telling projects in her spare time.

Mark

Mark van den Berg, Wedding DJ and Founder

Mark founded Mighty Fine Events and still DJs weddings himself. Most of how the company works came out of the way he works on the night.

Cape Town, then Manchester

Mark started DJing in Cape Town and has been doing it for over 40 years. After moving to England he became part of the Manchester scene and set up the club night Luvdup, which drew thousands and led to DJ Magazine naming him one of the Top 25 DJs in the world.

He produced as well as played. He has worked with Womack and Womack, M People and The Charlatans, and holds gold discs for the Fantazia compilations. His first release was picked as an Essential New Tune by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, and he later signed to Warner Brothers.

How he works at a wedding

Most of the work happens before the day. The music gets agreed with the couple in advance, so very little on the night is guesswork, and the couple has one less thing to think about in a week when everything else needs thinking about.

Then there is reading the room, which is the half of the job that cannot be planned. It is what tells him when a floor is about to turn, and to change course before it does.

He is calm, and that turns out to be the thing couples mention most. A wedding has a lot of moving parts, and somebody has to be unbothered by them.

Awards and judging

Mark has won Best National Wedding DJ at The Wedding Industry Awards, and Best Wedding DJ in London and the South East three times. The English Wedding Awards named him Best Wedding Entertainment London. He has also sat as a national judge for The Wedding Industry Awards since 2016.
