Dance Floor Hire for Weddings, Parties and Events

Hiring a dance floor ought to be the easy part of planning a party. We bring it, lay it, and take it away again, working to whatever times your venue has set. Most of ours go in alongside one of our DJs, which is usually why the floor and the music end up in the right place relative to each other.

Our dancefloor hire covers London and the South East. If you’re further out, ask us anyway and we’ll tell you honestly if it’s worth the trip.

Dance floors we hire

Plain white and plain black floors are the starting point, along with black and white chequerboard.

The LED starlight floor is the one most couples picture. Hundreds of small lights set into the panels, so the surface glows and shifts under people as they dance. It comes on a white, black, or black and white base. You’ll see it called a twinkling, starlit or snowflake floor elsewhere; they’re all the same thing.

Mirror floors come in silver or gold. The infinity floor sets mirror behind LED, so the surface looks as though it drops away beneath you.

Colour is more open than most people expect. If a shade is made as a HIPS panel, we can build a dancefloor in it, so pink, silver, various golds and most things in between are all possible. Tell us the colour you’re working to and we’ll tell you if it exists.

Trims and custom designs

Every floor comes with a silver aluminium trim as standard. You can upgrade to a black trim, which frames the floor rather than edging it, and it makes a noticeable difference in photographs of darker rooms.

We can also add a monogram or a design of your own into the centre of the floor.

Weddings, parties and corporate events

Our floors go into London ballrooms, Oxfordshire barns and Surrey manor houses, and we work regularly across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

They go into private parties and corporate events as often as weddings.

The size follows the room and the guest list rather than a standard set of options. Too small and nobody can move; too large and it reads as empty all night. We’ll tell you what fits once we know the numbers and the space.

Delivery, installation and pack-down

Our team lays the dancefloor and collects it afterwards. We talk to your venue directly about access and timings, so the floor is down before you need the room and gone when they need it back.

Every floor is laid level and locked together properly. We’ll want to know what the floor is going onto before the day, because the surface underneath decides how much preparation it needs.

How the floors are built

The panels are maintained to the highest standards between hires, which matters more than it sounds; a scuffed floor photographs badly and no amount of lighting hides it.

They’re built to take a full night of dancing in heels, and they’re checked before they leave us.

Booking a dance floor with your DJ

Most people book the floor and the DJ together. It puts one team on site rather than two, with a single point of contact if something needs moving at short notice. If you are adding uplighting as well, that arrives with the same team.

You can hire a dance floor from us on its own. Plenty of people do.

Saturdays between April and October go first, and most dance floor bookings come in six to twelve months ahead. Ask anyway if your date is sooner, because we can often still help. Contact Mighty Fine Events to check your date.

Dance floor hire questions

What types of dance floor can I hire from Mighty Fine Events?

Plain white, plain black, and black and white chequerboard. LED starlight on a white, black, or black and white base. Mirror in silver or gold. And the infinity floor, which sets mirror behind LED. We can also build a floor in almost any colour, as long as that shade is made as a HIPS panel, so pink and various golds are all possible.

What sizes of dance floor are available?

We size the floor to the room and the guest list rather than working from a fixed set. Once we know your numbers and the space you have got, we will tell you what fits. A floor that is too big reads as empty all evening, and one that is too small stops people dancing.

Do you deliver, install and collect the dance floor?

Yes. We lay it on the day and collect it afterwards, and we deal with your venue directly on access and timings so nobody has to relay messages.

How do I know which dance floor size is right for my event?

Tell us your guest numbers and the room, and we will recommend a size. As a rule not everyone dances at once, so the floor does not need to hold your whole guest list.

Can I add a monogram or a design of my own to the dance floor?

Yes. We can set a monogram, a motif or a design you supply into the centre of the floor.

What is an LED starlight dance floor?

A floor with hundreds of small LEDs set into the panels, so the surface glows and shifts as people dance on it. It comes on a white, black, or black and white base. Twinkling, starlit and snowflake floors are the same product under different names.

What is an infinity dance floor?

Mirror set behind LED, which makes the surface look as though it drops away beneath you. It is the most dramatic floor we hire and it photographs unlike anything else.

Are your dance floors safe to dance on?

Yes. Every floor is laid level and locked together by our team, the panels are checked before they leave us, and they are built for a full night of dancing in heels.

Can a dance floor be installed on an uneven or outdoor surface?

Our floors need a flat, solid base. Indoor venue flooring is straightforward. Outdoor ground and marquee flooring carry more risk, so we would want to look at the specifics before agreeing to anything. Tell us what the floor would be going onto and we will give you a straight answer.

Can I hire a dance floor without also booking a DJ?

Yes. Plenty of people do. Booking the floor and the DJ together puts one team on site rather than two, but it is not a condition of hiring the floor.

Which areas do you cover for dance floor hire?

London and the South East, including Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Essex, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. If you are outside that, ask anyway and we will give you an honest answer.

How far in advance should I book my dance floor hire?

Most dance floor bookings come in six to twelve months ahead, and Saturdays between April and October go first. We do sometimes have shorter-notice availability, so it is worth asking even if your date is close.

How do I get a quote for dance floor hire?

Use the Quick Quote form or call 0800 288 8618. Tell us the date and the venue, plus roughly how many guests you are expecting, and we will come back with a price for your event rather than a rate card. Dancefloor hire is quoted the same way on its own or with a DJ.
