Uplighter Hire for Weddings, Parties and Events

Uplighters are the most cost-effective way to change how a room feels. A dozen uplighters turn a beige function room into something that looks considered, and most guests never work out why the room looks better than it did at the drinks reception.

Our uplighters run on batteries, so nothing has to be taped across your floor. That is why they go into listed buildings and historic venues that will not allow mains runs.

No cables, anywhere in the room

Because our uplighters are battery-powered and wireless, we can put them where the room wants them rather than where the sockets are. Alcoves, behind pillars, up against stonework, along a marquee lining. Nothing has to reach a plug.

Setup is quicker for the same reason, and there is no cable matting to hire on top.

Colour

Any colour. We match flowers, bridesmaids, a brand palette, or whatever you bring us, and we set it before your guests come in.

Colour does not have to stay put all night either. A warm amber through dinner and speeches can change to something stronger when the party starts, and the units will do effects and fades during the evening if that suits the room.

Where we put them

Our uplighters go almost anywhere. Indoor venues, marquees, barns, historic houses. The units are self-contained, so a venue that will not let anyone run mains cable is exactly where they work best.

They are also IP65 rated, meaning sealed against dust and water, so they sit outside as happily as in. Garden walls, terraces, tree lines and the outside of a marquee are all fair game, and an English summer evening will not trouble them.

We walk the room first, either on the day or beforehand, and put the light where the architecture is worth showing. Uplighting a plain wall achieves very little. Uplighting a stone archway, a beamed ceiling or a run of tall windows changes the whole room.

How many you need

That depends on the room, and we will tell you rather than sell you a number. A small function room might take eight. A large barn or a long marquee needs considerably more to avoid the light looking patchy.

If you are hiring uplighting on its own, there is a minimum order value, which we confirm when we quote. Added to a DJ or dance floor booking, no minimum applies.

Uplighting with a DJ or production booking

Most of our uplighting goes in alongside a DJ or a dance floor, and it arrives with the same team on the same van. One crew and one point of contact.

We do supply uplighting on its own, and standalone hire is the only case where a minimum order value applies.

Weddings, parties and corporate events

Uplighting goes into weddings, private parties, product launches and corporate events. Most of our work is in London and the South East, and we travel for the rest.

The look changes with the occasion. A wedding usually wants one colour done properly; a brand launch usually wants the brand’s colour and nothing else in the room competing with it.

Uplighter hire questions

What is uplighting?

Light placed at floor level and angled up a wall or a pillar. It washes the vertical surfaces of a room in colour, which is what changes the feel of a space far more than anything at eye level.

Are your uplighters battery-powered?

Yes. They are battery-powered and wireless, so nothing needs to reach a socket and there are no cables across your floor. That is why they suit listed buildings and historic venues, where running mains cable is often not allowed.

What colours can I have?

Any colour. We match a flower palette, bridesmaid dresses, a corporate brand or a swatch you send us, and we set it before your guests arrive.

Can the colour change during the evening?

Yes. A warm tone through dinner and speeches can change to something stronger for the party, and the units will run effects and fades during the evening if it suits the room.

How many uplighters do I need?

It depends on the room rather than the guest count. A small function room might take eight; a long marquee or a large barn needs considerably more, or the light looks patchy. Tell us the venue and we will recommend a number.

Is there a minimum order?

Only for standalone uplighting hire, where there is a minimum order value that we confirm when we quote. If you are adding uplighting to a DJ or dance floor booking, no minimum applies.

Can you uplight a marquee or an outdoor space?

Yes to both. Marquees are one of the better rooms for uplighting because the lining takes colour well, and being battery-powered means no cable runs across grass. The units are IP65 rated, so they are sealed against dust and water and are built to be used outdoors.

Can I hire uplighting without booking a DJ?

Yes. Most of our uplighting goes in alongside a DJ or a dance floor and arrives with the same team, but it is not a condition. Standalone hire carries a minimum order value; added to another booking, it does not.

How do I get a quote for uplighter hire?

Use the Quick Quote form or call 0800 288 8618. Tell us the venue and date, plus roughly what you want lit, and we will come back with a recommended number and a price.

Which areas do you cover for uplighter hire?

Most of our work is in London and the South East, and we travel well beyond that. Tell us where the venue is and we will factor it into the quote.
