Chris, Wedding DJ and Master of Ceremonies

Chris has played over 300 weddings across more than twenty years, and he is a professional Toastmaster as well as a DJ. That combination is unusual and it changes what a couple gets on the day.

Before the day

Most of the work happens in the weeks beforehand. Chris takes the time to understand what a couple actually want to hear, and what they would rather not, so that very little on the night is guesswork. Couples tend to notice the same thing afterwards: one fewer thing to think about, in a period when everything else needs thinking about.

On the night

Reading the room is the half of the job that cannot be planned in advance. Chris connects with a crowd across ages and musical tastes, which matters at a wedding more than anywhere else, because the room holds several generations at once and they all came for the same day.

As Master of Ceremonies he keeps the shape of the evening intact, so speeches start when they should and the room knows where to be. He is calm about it, which is the quality couples mention most often about a good DJ, and it is what lets everyone else stop watching the clock.

Beyond weddings

Chris DJed the official London 2012 after-parties for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. He has worked with the Urban Soul Orchestra, the BBC, and Angie Greaves of Magic FM, and takes regular corporate event and Christmas party bookings alongside weddings.
