Jack, Wedding and Party DJ

Jack came up through London club work, holding residencies including Blagclub in Holland Park and guesting widely across the city. Most DJs learn one room; he learned several, which is where the range comes from.

Before the day

Most of the work happens in the weeks beforehand. Jack agrees the music with the couple in advance, so very little on the night is guesswork and the couple has one fewer thing to think about in a period when everything else needs thinking about.

On the night

Reading the room is the half of the job that cannot be planned, and club work is the hardest training for it, because a room that has not come for you is a room you have to win. He is calm about it, which is what lets everyone else stop watching the clock.

He rarely stays in one genre for a whole set. Where a couple want something narrower, or particular to them, that is what he plays instead.

Corporate and event work

Over the years Jack’s corporate bookings have included Disney, Harrods and the BBC, at venues such as The Gherkin and Somerset House. He has also played for television and film production teams marking the end of a series or a shoot.

What he takes

Alongside weddings, Jack takes corporate events and private parties.
