Blenheim Palace Wedding DJ & Entertainment

Blenheim Palace sits at the edge of Woodstock in Oxfordshire, twenty minutes from Oxford. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the birthplace of Winston Churchill, and still the home of the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough. Vanbrugh built it, and Capability Brown laid out the two thousand acres around it.

We’re an approved and recommended supplier here.

Where weddings happen

The Great Hall, the Saloon and the Long Library together take up to 250 guests, and that combination is what most larger weddings use inside the Palace. The Long Library runs to nearly 150 feet. The Great Hall’s painted ceiling is 67 feet above you.

The Orangery is where we work most often. It was restored recently, has a Grade I listed glass roof, and it is a room that rewards being lit properly.

For anything larger, marquees go up on the grounds, and Blenheim will take up to 2,000 that way.

Lighting the Orangery

This is the part worth planning, and most couples don’t think about it until late.

We set uplighting to a single colour through the wedding breakfast, so the room feels calm and considered while people are eating and speeches are happening. Then we change it for the party. The shift is dramatic, and it happens in the space of a song.

Moving heads sweeping the Orangery are worth seeing in a room that size. Both are additions to the DJ setup, quoted with everything else.

What we bring

We supply the PA and microphones for the wedding breakfast, so the speeches are properly heard, and the full rig for the evening.

Everything Blenheim asks of a supplier working in the building, we already meet. Every act is approved by the Palace before the day, and we handle that rather than leaving it with you.

Music through the day

Blenheim asks something particular of the daytime music, and we’re often booked for classical musicians who suit the building rather than fight it. A string quartet or a harpist in the Orangery or the Great Hall, then the DJ for the evening, is a common shape here.

How we work

The day belongs to you, and everything we do follows from that.

You’ll get an online request system for your music, where tracks are marked must play, play if possible, or do not play. You can also build your own list with our playlist builder. There’s a planning sheet, and we speak to the Blenheim team the week before to cross-check timings against theirs.

On the night, a DJ who reads the room and stays out of the way. No microphone chatter. Mark has been doing this for over forty years and judges at The Wedding Industry Awards.

Live entertainment

Our entertainment roster runs from string quartets and harpists through to live bands, gospel choirs, magicians and caricaturists. A saxophonist over the decks is our DJ Live setup, and it books alongside the DJ.

Talk to us

Most couples come to us twelve to eighteen months out, though we can often help at shorter notice. Pricing is tailored to your day rather than fixed, so tell us your date, rough guest numbers and which rooms you’re looking at.

We work across Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties, and Blenheim is one of the venues we know best.
