Dodmoor House Wedding DJ & Entertainment

Dodmoor House sits in four acres of grounds at Dodford in Northamptonshire, a family-run venue built around Grade II listed barns. It goes out on exclusive use, so there is one wedding on site at a time and the place is yours for the day.

The Courtyard Barn takes the ceremony, licensed for up to 100 theatre-style. The Catesby Barn seats 100 for the wedding breakfast and holds up to 180 in the evening, with a bar on the mezzanine above the floor. There is a Farmhouse Suite for getting ready, the Dodford Room before the ceremony, and a honeymoon suite for the night itself.

The Catesby Barn

The party happens in the Catesby Barn. It is a warm room rather than a cavernous one, and that is the whole reason uplighting works so well in it. Colour on the walls and up into the timbers changes the room completely once the lights come down, and in a space this size it reaches everything rather than getting lost. If you ask us where to put a bit of extra budget at Dodmoor, that is the answer.

The bar being on the mezzanine, directly above the dancing, is the other thing worth knowing. People do not disappear to a different room when they go for a drink, which is usually what empties a dance floor by half ten.

The turnaround

The Catesby Barn does both the wedding breakfast and the party, so it has to be cleared and reset in between. Our rig goes in during that turnaround rather than standing in the corner through dinner.

It is worth building that into your timeline, because the room is out of use while it happens. We plan the day around it and we can cover the earlier part on a separate system, so the ceremony, the drinks and the speeches all have sound without the main setup being in the way.

Music through the day

Our DJs play what you actually want to hear, and you can put the night together yourself with our playlist builder if you would rather be specific about it. For the earlier part of the day we can supply live musicians, from string quartets and harpists to saxophonists and singers, and for the evening there are bands, choirs and roaming acts. Our DJ Live setup puts musicians over the DJ set if you want both at once.

Northamptonshire is home
