Stoke Place Wedding DJ & Entertainment

Stoke Place is a Queen Anne house of 1690, built by Patrick Lamb, who cooked for four successive monarchs across nearly half a century. It sits in 26 acres at Stoke Poges laid out by Capability Brown, with the lake at the centre of it, half an hour from central London and fifteen minutes from Heathrow.

Stoke Place was the first venue ever to put us on its recommended supplier list, back in 2012, and we’re still on it. More than 150 weddings later, we know it about as well as anywhere we work.

The Lakeside

Around 98% of the evening parties we play here happen in the Lakeside, and it is a genuinely unusual room to DJ in.

The bar sits close to the floor, which changes everything. Nobody has to leave the party to get a drink and come back in again, so the room stays whole. It also has an organic shape to it, and people end up dancing all over it rather than in one polite square in front of the decks. Rooms that do that are rare. Of everywhere we work, the Lakeside is Mark’s favourite room to DJ in.

The daytime happens elsewhere. The Ballroom takes up to 160 with natural light and doors straight onto the gardens, and the Wigwam suits a smaller wedding breakfast. With 39 bedrooms on site, guests stay where the party is.

What we bring

Everything. Sound, lighting, the lot, all our own and set up for the Lakeside rather than dropped in from a template.

Uplighting is the addition we’d point at first here. The Lakeside takes colour beautifully and the difference at nine o’clock is not a subtle one. We can also lay a dance floor if you want one, and Dancing on the Clouds is more popular at Stoke Place than almost anywhere we work. All three are additions to the DJ setup, quoted with the rest.

How we work

The day belongs to you, and everything we do follows from that.

You’ll get an online request system for your music, where tracks are marked must play, play if possible, or do not play. You can also build your own list with our playlist builder. There’s a planning sheet, and we speak to the Stoke Place team the week before to cross-check timings against theirs.

On the night, a DJ who reads the room and stays out of the way. No microphone chatter. Mark has been doing this for over forty years and judges at The Wedding Industry Awards.

Live entertainment

Our entertainment roster covers string quartets, harpists, saxophonists and singers for the daytime, live bands and gospel choirs for the evening, and magicians, caricaturists and acrobats when you want something your guests won’t have seen before.

A saxophonist or a percussionist playing over the decks works particularly well in a room where people are already moving. That pairing is our DJ Live setup, and it books through us alongside the DJ.
